We are officially in spring and with the 75 degree weather, there’s no better time to get the family out for some fresh air on a nature walk! Walks are great for everyone, regardless if you go out for 5 minutes or 50 minutes. It brings a sense of peace and calm, and you never know what you might see! Here’s a list of the best nature trails in Burleson, with a bonus scavenger hunt list to print and take with you!
Bailey Lake Park – beautiful scenery as you walk around the pond. You will probably see ducks, rabbits, prairie dogs and birds, but watch out for spiders and snakes.
Address: 280 W Hidden Creek Pkwy, Burleson, TX
Chisenhall Park – Go behind the baseball fields and cross the creek. (There are a few Geocache treasures back there.) If you get on the right path, this walk will eventually lead you to Bailey Lake.
Address: 500 Chisenhall Park Lane, Burleson, TX
Lost Oak Winery – So peaceful, but check in and ask if they are still giving permission to walk the trail. You might see deer, rabbits and birds.
Address: 8101 Country Road 802, Burleson, TX
Oak Valley Nature Trail – this is a concrete trail, with a length of 2.4 miles tip to tip. This is the trail I’d recommend for strollers or children on bikes because it’s 10 feet in width.
Address: you can enter from either the corner of Rigney Way and Scott Street in Burleson’s Old Town District or in Oak Valley Park North. The trail also crosses a retained nature habitat in which nature hikes are provided by the Rio Brazos Master Naturalists.
